I have been wanting a 1911 for a while(put it off at last purchase and bought FN 5.7). Am now starting to look seriously again. Have read lots of threads. Am looking at possibly a Kimber or a Springfield. Friend of mine swears by his Kimbers and has had lots of diff. model. Currently has a Custom Crimson Carry II and he loves it (fits my hand really well). Then another friend spent a little more and went with a spring. TRP. Always see lots of varying opinions on both guns. Can anyone clarify..lol. Thanks for any opinions

Ivebshot many 1911s. I was r most impressed with the springfield loaded 1911. Just as many features as many other high dollar 1911s. They cost less too. That is one of my trade regrets.

I still miss my Loaded Springer. It was the best sub $1k 1911 I have ever owned. I would get a Springer over a Kimber any day.

These are not my only 2 options just ones i have seen. Any suggestions are welcome, Dont want to go much more than $1100 so was kinda ruling out TRP and looking at a few lower springers, once again thanks for any and all replies

If you are gonna spend that much on a gun get what you want the first time. If you want the TRP just save a few more hundred up and get it. Trust me, if you settle for something else you will never be fully satisfied with it. At $1100 you're really not that far from a nice used TRP.
