Would you sell something to someone else for more after you agree to a deal?

OK - I got burned today and I am trying to decide if I should leave negative feedback.

I agreed to pay more than the asking price for a bunch of shotgun shells. The extra money was to cover the gas for the guy to come meet me where I was working. We agreed to a price, time and place. In my mind, that is as good as a done deal.

Well somebody offered him more for the shells, so he took it. He says he tried to text me, but I am not sure I believe that. I waited all day while at work and stuck around for another 30 minutes while sending many texts and calling him to see if he was coming.

He feels that he has the right to accept a better offer and that until the products / cash have changed hands he can change his mind and take a better offer.

I would never take a better offer and go back on my word. Money comes and goes, but your honor can not be restored.

Your thoughts???

UPDATE: The x-ODT user that did the above described activity also did the same thing to at least one other person about the same shotgun shells. The Mods checked into everything and have BANNED the account. THANKS ODT!!!

I'd leave negative feedback since you were waiting at the meet spot for him. Same thing happened to me but the d-bag that did it to me at least called and said he had a better offer after we agreed on the deal.

Some people are just butt holes

Good luck

Definition of a “Committed Deal.”

A Committed Deal is when the following terms have been finalized and agreed upon by all parties involved in the transaction.

•Price of item (if it’s a purchase and not a trade)

•Items included in transaction (What accessories, ammo, etc are included)

•Time and Place where transaction will be completed.

Neg his ass.

My understanding of forum rules, once a price/time/place are agreed upon and documented through PM, its a done deal. Failure to follow through, absent exigent circumstances, warrants justified negative feedback.
