You should come out for some US ARMS rifle matches. Similar concept to and IDPA, but with rifles.

Thanks Dirty J unfortunately, none of those are close by for me right now (live in buford, but work in SC 5 days a week). Will keep my eyes peeled for something like that in the future though.

Finding a place to get to do dynamic shooting on the AR is going to be tough i think, but if i learned anything on saturday it was that just standing still practicing the basics is good practice.

That was a very good review, but you are correct it's the basic things you forget when you are shooting, I trained my son on those same Principles, that I learned in the military, my son is LAZY as hell, but when we shoot the AR-15, he remembers his breathing, sight picture, sight alignment and trigger control, etc . He, can fire a AR-15, like he was born to shoot that RIFLE, but I do RESPECT the fact that you are Mastering a weapon that may save your life ons day. Good luck in your future training classes.
