I like lighter line for trout but 6 pound PLine fluoro coated works great in the 33 casts like silk.
That setup has probably caught more trout then most setups combined. Every kid growing up had their grandpa or another family member give them one to trout fish with. Thats the setup I had when I was 3. I could pull that old setup out put new line on it and catch a limit in no time.
I actually caught one crappie fishing last year it was out in the middle of the lake. I take it apart washed the mud out with the lake water put new line on it and had it back out in 30 mins. Caught 5 fish on it that day.
