What are everyone's thoughts on this? https://www.zevtechnologies.com/shop/zev-ar15-core-elite-pistol-300-blk/

I have a chance to purchase this exact model in like new condition, no magazine or accessories, but am unsure about whether to go forward with it or not due to the price being asked for it and ignorance of Zev, though I've heard it is a great brand and that they make Glock aftermarket parts.

Does anyone know if the barrel on this particular AR pistol is threaded already? Would be shooting suppressed with it.

Thanks!

This new new? Ide wait for a next gen. I've shot thousands of rounds outve my zev pistol and only a few malfunctions prior to reaching 1k. That being said I've seen the pistol barrel slide catch underneath break off. Zev is good but they need to do better on customer service. My 2 cents.

It says on the listing (not ODT) that it's like new, barely fired.

Yes, it’s threaded. Should be 5/8x24.

ZEV and Mega are the same company nowadays, so the receiver set should be of exceptional quality. Mega is the OEM manufacturer for receivers for such companies as SOLGW. I’m looking at having custom variance receivers made for TruPrep, and Mega is who I will use.

The Wedge Lock handguard has been around for some time now, and is a solid piece. I like it very much.

If the description of the BCG is accurate, it should be solid and reliable.

Not a fan of cartridge triggers, but many are, or just don’t care. It wouldn’t stop me from a purchase, as that’s an easy “fix”.

I don’t know what you plan on shooting out of it, but 1:7” generally tends to work with heavy subs. If I had a gun like this, it would be used with heavy subs only, and I’d prefer a 1:5” twist.

Don’t know what kinda deal you’re getting on it, but IMHO $1864 for a .300Blk pistol is a bit steep, but I know what I can build a high-quality AR pistol for.

I have a Mega upper and lower that i bought separately and made a few changes. Overall the machining is good, finish is very good and it's a good shooting rifle. I've got the Mega Gator lower, A5 buffer tube/H2 buffer, SSA-E trigger (AR Gold is very nice for a cassette trigger, (pretty sure it's Burdy Burdy favorite trigger). My upper is their forged receiver, SOLGW L89 rail (similar wedgelock system), Centurion 14.5 CHF barrel with a Sionics NP3 BCG. Overall it's a very solid build and a good shooter. I bought the upper from an ODTer in the past because I wanted the Centurion barrel and ended up keeping it the way it was and then built the stripped lower when I wanted to match it up with a Mega lower.

That being said, that does seem a bit expensive for a factory 300 build but not too far off on price, so if you are buying it at a bit of a discount that might be nice. Like cmshoot, I would go with a 1:5 twist personally (my 300bo is 1:5 Mostek) but I only shoot subs in mine. The 1:7 is probably better if you plan to shoot both subs and supers.

I had a Zev Core Duty, I was impressed it with it for what it was. It shot great, grouped well, factory trigger was pretty good. I don’t keep guns very long, so it was sold or traded, can’t remember honestly. But it was a good shooter.

1/7 twist on a short 300blk running subs isn't enough twist and that alone would prevent me from buying it. I'd want 5 twist.

Zev/Mega make great receivers though.
Appreciate that. I actually found an ODT'er with an amazing deal on another AR-pistol. I'll have to post pictures once I buy it and make my touches on it.

To everyone else, thank you for the insight! This is why I love ODT and am a proud supporter.
