First, let me say that I have never left negative feedback before and do not enjoy this opportunity at all. I always try to be fair and give second chances, especially to newbies, but I'm hoping that this review will keep someone else from having a negative experience in the future.
This guy asked if I would drive an hour south to meet him. The first time, I declined as I had already noticed that he had negative feedback for being a no-show once before and didn't have much feedback either. About a week later, he asked again and I decided to give him a 2nd chance. We agreed to an exit off the interstate and a timeframe after 7pm. He said he would let me know the exact time when he called after he got to work around 6pm. Since I knew it would take almost an hour in heavy traffic, I started heading towards the meetup area at 6pm so that I would be there at 7pm in the event that he wanted to meet right at 7pm. I was willing to take the chance that I might have to wait 30-45 min or so if he came a little later but since he said he would be at work, I didn't want him to have to wait on me. I was being considerate of his time.
Just before 7pm, he sent me a msg on ODT that he was going to be busy at work and would check back another day to see if I had the ammo. I told him that I was already in the meeting area and could have dinner to kill time, but that I really needed him to make good on the meet that we agreed to. He said that he meant that he could meet "sometime after 7pm", but not necessarily during the 7pm hour. Seriously? So it could be after 8pm or after 9pm or later? Sometime before midnight? Before sunrise?
Since I had already planned to wait for a while after 7, I told him that I could stick around for a bit, but that I'd need him to follow through on the deal or risk negative feedback. His response what 'less than apologetic'. I finally went home and he msgd me again around 9:30p that he was still busy - I guess he wanted to try and meet later in the night?
Bottom line, this was a no show. It didn't' matter that I had already driven an hour 1-way to meet and then another hour back home. Why? Because even hours after the scheduled time, he was still unable to meet. This taught me a lesson...if someone has low feedback AND negative feedback, it's probably best not to take a chance. I hope others can learn from this too.
