This seller is a knowledgeable collector in Massachusetts and was selling some of his pieces. One of those was a 1952 NIB UNFIRED (yes, New In Box, and Unfired) M1D Garand Sniper. I saw the ad on the Trader and fell in love. I kept going back to the ad and the wife saw it over my shoulder & casually asked what I was looking at. Of course I gave her the full Monty on the M1 history (God Bless her for listening without the eye roll) and why this one was such a find. Not being a collector, it was just something I would drool over online.
Unknown to me, my wife (the Unicorn) made her own account on the Trader in order to contact this seller. Our anniversary was coming up and this amazing woman had started the process to buy it for me! She contacted the seller, explaining that she knew nothing about collectible guns or the buying process; he very politely and professionally walked her through the explanation and validity of the gun, how transfers work, and then communicated constantly throughout the process, including calling to ensure it had arrived as advertised and to be sure I was happy with it.
Being out of state, and dealing with such a high value item, I would have been hesitant, had I known. But the seller has feedback on several other sites and continued to assist my wife with the process from start to finish. He certainly didn't have to spend the extra time to coach a 'new' buyer, but he did so happily. Again, none of this was known by me, I found out when I opened the box on our anniversary. Did I mention I love my wife!!!???
The gun arrived as advertised and the pictures do not do it justice; it's a stunning item. The wife had also commissioned a local woodworker to build a custom box for display. She's a keeper!
Thanks for reading; in short, deal with confidence! Great seller & a great guy!
