I know that I have asked this elsewhere, but I wish to get as much input as I can on this. Which .22 rifle would you recommend to "have around"? I am torn between a Ruger 10/22 and a Henry .22 Lever-gun. Any suggestions?

Both! I'd start with either a bolt action like a savage or the Ruger 10/22. You will always decide you want or need something else, but with the Ruger you can make it like you want. The 10/22 and the Henry lever 22's are both great, they're just different. You'll burn through way more .22lr with a 10/22 than you will anything else.

IMHO the Ruger 10/22 because you have an unlimited amount of aftermarket products available for upgrades. Ideally I would prefer an older 10/22 with the metal trigger group unless you plan to upgrade the TG.

Henry Lever over a 10.22 all day.

1. .22 short, Calibri, .22 long and .22 Long Rifle.
2. No magazines to reload or keep up with.
3. Will always cycle.
4. Higher capacity.

For a "have around" gun? Ruger. Another option, Marlin Mod 60.

Want a .22 with stupid accuracy an no need to ever upgrade? Find a CZ 452. Definitely not a truck gun, though.
