How rare are albino/blond does?

I killed a 6 pt piebald several years ago in Olgethorpe Co. Only one I have ever taken. Have seen a couple more over the years.

Bad luck to kill a white deer

Back around 2008 or so I started hearing about an albino buck showing up in a guys yard at night less than two miles down the road from my house. In a two week period in 2010 I saw it three times about 4:30 am when I was headed to work. It turned out to be a piebald but that buck was as white as snow except for three brown spots on one side of it, two about the size of a softball & one about twice that size. He was a bigun too, I bet he would've weighed at least 200 lbs and I was able to count at least eight points on a BIG ol' rack! Sure wish I could've gotten some pics of him, it's the only one I've ever seen in the wild. I did see a nice ten point real albino at the Buck O' Rama once but it was in a cage on display with a few other normal bucks with giant racks.

Only seen one piebald in my 43 years of deer hunting, it was a doe.

I have seen three Piebalds in my lifetime. One of which had a 6pt rack and was a doe.

I've seen 2. One was a nice buck taken by a kid at my place... his first deer

My son and I saw 3 together last year on the new bypass in Newnan. Only ones I've ever seen alive.

Melanistic deer are just as rare as a piebald. Melanistic deer have an excess in Melanin, piebalds and albinos have decreased levels of Melanin.

Ive seen nothing but normal-colored deer in my 32 years of hunting.
