The only argument I have against it is the cost of ammo. 30rds in seconds, that adds up...
I do believe having a mini gun would come in handy
only the elites will have ammo.
Fire superiority is needed or at least extremely beneficial for most battle drills.
Just imagine how many less American casualties we would have had in WWII, if every soldier had carried a full auto machine gun. Some bureaucrat decided that they’d waste too much ammo, so they went with bolt action slow down the expenditure of ammunition.
If you have ever been suppressed by a machine gun you will know for a fact that it is VERY VERY useful.
Imagine how much shorter the movie "Saving Private Ryan" would be if they all had machine guns.
