Item Description: SOLD PENDING MEET
Up for sale is an original Model 1873 Winchester rifle in 38-40 caliber, made in 1887-88. Found it in the back of my gun safe, and realized I haven't shot it in 15 years, so reluctantly, it's for sale. Up front, it was reblued in the late 1950s. But, it is an excellent shooter. I shot it in SASS Cowboy Action Shooting for 6-7 years., and I wouldn't hesitate in going out and shooting a 100 rounds through it. This is NOT a rusted up wallhanger. It has a 24 inch barrel. The bore has some black powder roughness in it, but still retains a lot of bright, sharp lands and grooves. As you will see from the pictures, the internal receiver and toggle parts are in immaculate condition. The wood is in excellent condition, with no cracks or repairs.
The only part missing is the rear sight ladder. I took it off when cowboy shooting close ranges, then lost it. If you want an original 1873 that is cheaper than a current replica, this is the one.
Asking Price is $845. No trades at this time. Will meet you half way, up to 30 or so miles from Lawrenceville. I will also ship it to you for the cost of shipping. It comes with a 3-day inspection period. If you get it home and it's not as advertised, or you just don't like it, I will gladly meet and refund your money. Here's some pictures.
