What does this word mean to you?

For many folks here on ODT means, "SPIKE your price up, as much as you feel like, because what you got is RARE." lol... Then they use this word as the very first word on their classified post...

I was going thru the classified just now and I noticed that every one of them have a very sour price... - You know who you are, Bubba!!

If I post something as "rare", it generally means that everyone else has one but "I" have never had one, e.g., "I have a 'rare' G-19 for sale", or "I have a rare Remington 870"..

"Rare" - no one bought one back then, or they were rubbish and were quickly discarded.

You know, at one time, eBay would pop up an average price or price range for something you were about to put up for auction or sale.
