I feel like you're just trying to troll now. But here goes anyways J's=Jordan's Jordan's = Michael Jordan's very expensive brand of sneakers. Not sure what buddies are but Spider man shoes generally come from Walmart and are very inexpensive. Jordan's on the other hand are like $150 a pair on the low end. So the people in question spent a lot of unnecessary money on shoes for themselves but spent hardly anything on shoes for their kids.

I do tend to purchase nicer shoes for myself:
I do not drag my toes when bicycling, walking or playing outside
I do not walk around school all day with my shoes untied because "Dad, its cool."
I take time to remove and put on my shoes properly as to not damage the backs
I typically do not outgrow my shoes every 3-4 months
