I was in line at customer service to make a return and the lady in front of me was cashing her payroll check. The employee hands the lady three $100 bills and some change for something like $320. The lady then asks to get a money order for $200 and the employee holds the $100 bills up to the light, then marks them with the 'countefit" pen :help: Im sorry, but if she just handed the lady the money and then she checks the money before putting it back in her till, whats the point ?

habit. Years ago my wife worked in a Casino. My wife would clear her hands for the camera after handing me anything. It was just habit.

but funny none the less

I see your point. Probably "company policy" to check every large bill as it comes in. My daughter is a retailer. She checks every large bill she gets. ...even those she gets from the teller at her bank. She has actually received counterfeit 100's from the bank.

habit........and at least the employee shows diligence . Funny though. What if it did come up as a fake ? wonder how that would have went down.

thats what I was thinking, I should have asked, but didnt want to embarass her. It would be funny though the woman who received the money pulls out one of those pens and holds the bills to the light before accepting them from Wallyworld :)

I like that idea... I am definitely buying one of those pens.

I was surprised to find out from a Walmart cashier that she somewhat regularly catches counterfeit bills. I made sure to borrow a pen from my local bank when I sold a car for a handful of cash after that.
