Pencil the AUG Armorer Course in for Saturday, May 4, at TruPrep in Marietta. Still gotta nail down some details, then I'll post the ad and take questions.
I get it, it's a preference.......but if you can get the system that you prefer, then why not?
I trained a lot of shooters in long range. Some don't have a problem with working in both systems, some folks absolutely cannot get their head wrapped around the other system, whether it be MOA or mils.
Was putting together a complete rifle package for a customer for his first Montana elk hunt.
Rifle is a Weatherby 307 XP Range in 7mmRemMag
20MOA Peak Picatinny base
MDT rings
Customer left the rifle, caliber, and optic up to me. I was looking for a scope, and I had certain criteria. He'll...
I like nitride as a finish in a lot of different AR applications, but not on the bolt and carrier.
Only company that I’ve ever seen that made a top quality BCG with nitride is Hodge.
Most companies machine carriers and keys with the assumption that on down the round they will be...
I ran a 2-day 1911 Operator/Armorer Course years ago, in conjunction with John Harrison. I ran the “Armorer” part, and John ran the “Armorer” part.
He’s busier n’ hell, and semi-retired, but I’ll see if he’s up for another one.
The DB BCG’s that I’ve seen were crap. 9310 bolts, nitrided finish, not HC’ed inside the carrier bore and gas key, etc.
I wouldn’t use them, and I don’t recommend them.
At this point, turning it in his OP’s safest bet.
He can’t plead ignorance, and he’s been advised of the State and Federal laws. Which situation do you think has the best chance of a positive outcome for him ?:
1. He voluntarily turns it in
2. He’s caught with it
At least one LEO has...
In 30 years of law enforcement, and the vast number of LEO's I've met from local/county/state/Federal, I would state that is not the case.
The ones that abuse their authority, and go out of their way to jam up good folks trying to do the right thing, are the exception, rather than the rule.
Since I’m a Captain, that would make me a Senior Ignorant ****, who REALLY thinks he knows the law, and who has made a lot of cases on bad info to get where I’m at now.
Why am I not making a case out of this? I have enough information of the OP and the situation to get the ball rolling on an...
As someone who has been in law enforcement for 30 years now, you are wrong. I’m currently a police Captain.
We have folks turn in illegal items to us all the time. We are set up for it, and do it regularly. I have never heard of a citizen being charged for bringing an illegal item to get...
It will be easy to see if the serial number was removed, vs was never there.
Additionally, for inventory and control purposes, I do believe that all US military small arms are serial numbered. Even during the Civil War they were numbered. You can’t tell who a weapon belongs to otherwise...
