I've been wanting to get in this particular river since I first started metal detecting but the drive is rather long. I was finally able to find the time and we ended up having a great day on the water. I was proud of my little 4hp motor too. It got us back up river (2 miles) to the boat ramp...
I've always wanted to write about the zen state that archery provides. I know many of you here know this state. It's a state where the mind empties and you actually become the arrow. I attempted to articulate this state. I hope it resonates with some of you here.
I know this style probably isn't...
Some of you seemed to enjoy the first video journal entry I did a couple of weeks ago. It was quick and palatable like instant grits. This second entry is more like a stew. It's been simmering inside for quite awhile but I wasn't able to find the right ingredients for the finishing touch until...
I've always gotten some of my best writing done during deer season while on stand. This year, I've decided I would put the shorter pieces to video. I think 20 years down the road they'll be nice to look back on.
I've shared some of my writing here before and much of it has been well received. So...
We were about 5 miles from home when we drove past a pasture that had a beautiful hillside and an enormous oak tree at the very top. The cows were on their feet and the moon had them and the tree silhouetted. At the bottom of the hill was the fence to the property and some train tracks ran...
I wrote a poem but then decided to base a very short film (2 minutes 30 seconds) around it regarding the last few weeks before deer season begins here in Georgia. It’s a time that remains miserably hot and sticky but fall can be felt early in the mornings and late in the evenings.
Please let me...
Holy cow folks, went to 3 historical bridges with my magnet, one of which happened to be a covered bridge. Really got on top of some really old and really unique stuff at the last sight. Hope you enjoy.
This is a really underrated hobby.

I can finally say that I've caught a trout!
I know, it's pitiful but my dad never was into trout fishing growing up, although he took me bass fishing all the time.
My buddy Aaron talked me into driving 2.5 hours north on a Sunday at 2:00pm. Yes, it was a work night but man oh man was it worth...
Took the kids to a few creeks that I grew up fishing as a kid. The wife tagged along and managed to catch her first bass on artificial. We caught more fishing than I thought we'd catch.
Let me know if you enjoyed the video.

Me and my wife took the kids to a waterfall over the weekend and did some gold panning. It's been so hot and muggy, anything not involving water would have made the kids miserable. Anyways, I think the video turned out alright. What do y'all think?

Hey folks, I made a trailer for my youtube channel and I'm curious as to what ya'll think about it. For those who have watched many of my videos, do you think it sums the channel up well? For those unfamiliar, is it at all intriguing to you?

Me and my dad hit the river for some striper fishing. We came up on some shoals and I saw a small logjam. I decided to hang the gopro on top of it. I failed to check it out for wasp/hornets. About the time I get up there and get the camera adjusted POP POP POP! Had to dive back in. It sucked at...
The kids and I stumbled across a squirrel that was trapped in a large, steel drum trashcan. The squirrel would have more than likely drowned in the trash juice had I not heard it. I turned the camera on and filmed the rescue for anyone interested in seeing it.

I hadn't either until last week. But I guess I've been herping my whole life. Since I realized it was a thing, I decided to take my daughter out exploring and we filmed our first herping adventure.

Well, hit the river this weekend for some striper fishing. We didn't hook in to any stripes but me and my buddy caught nearly 20 altogether including a really nice spot!

Been writing since high school. Even went to college to teach literature (even though I still talk like a hillbilly) but dropped out because my mind is useless when contemplating numbers. But I've finally can mark getting published off the bucket list! I wrote a piece for American Digger...
My uncle sometimes gets drunk. When he does, he tends to call me over for for crazy jive. Once it was due to a "rabid" raccoon under his porch. It turned out to be a dirty Chow puppy. This weekend he called me. "Zach, get over here. There's a tail-less monkey in a tree."
"I'll be there in five...
Well, met up with fellow youtuber Exploring Alabama and took him and his wife to one of my magnet fishing holes after detecting one of my home site spots. He's a great guy with a great channel worthy of checking out. Dude's commentary cracks me up. Hope you enjoy.
