  1. Backpack advise

I don't know anything about the kitchen sink, but I get a new backpack every year after my kids get out of school. Getting two choices is a plus too.
  2. Alone in the Wilderness

I caught one of the shows recently on some streaming service. It kept me up late it was so interesting.
  3. If you could only have I gun

A compact bolt gun in .308 with detachable mag kinda sounds appealing to me.
  4. **Pointless paracord**

Good idea, I'll start working on prototypes this weekend.
  5. **Pointless paracord**

This morning. Same co-worker, different trip, different luggage.
  6. **Pointless paracord**

Oh yeah, used some last week from the truck to fix a broken zipper pull on a co-workers suitcase that was getting ready to head to the airport. :D Yeah, I guess I use it quite a bit.
  7. **Pointless paracord**

Well, I used it last weekend to make a clothes line to hang some wet towels and shirts, 3 weeks ago I used it to make a drag cord to pull some full length lighter wood logs to the campsite. If I think of anything else I used it for in the past month, I'll post it up.
  8. **Pointless paracord**

Definitely useful, I keep at least 100' in each vehicle and both campers. Use it quite a bit to be honest. No, I don't wear bracelets.

  11. Bow drill fail

I have, it's easy and works well and is waterproof. It's a tad on the messy side when making them. In all honesty, since I've learned to easily identify lighter wood, I don't keep anything but a Bic, a steel and a knife with me. The stuff is EVERYWHERE around these parts. Keep in mind, these...

Didn't even think of them. Good reason for a visit. Thanks.
  15. US Made Surplus Ammo Cans

Can someone tell me the best place to find surplus ammo cans? A coworker is trying to find some for a gift. Looking for .50 cal. cans specifically. I stopped by Truprep yesterday but they only had C grade cans available. USA made cans strongly preferred.

  18. My Boy is Learning

Thanks for the compliments, I'm just glad to get him away from the video games for a few days.
  19. My Boy is Learning

We decided to go "camping" last minute and my son wanted to use his fire steel to make a "survival" fire. I took him in the woods this morning and showed him how to find lighter wood. A few hours later he took me to the woods and found some himself. So, we drug it back to camp and he went to work.
  20. Boots- shelf life

Dang, I'm glad I've never experienced this. I've had several pairs of boots that went 15+ years and not had this happen. Most have been Vibram soles but several (still in use) are proprietary soles and show no signs of this.
