Just stay away from the old line "but this is BAIT!" referring to raw fish.
I would get a genuine kick out of seeing you set up a friction fire with chop sticks in the restaurant. Just bring a hearth board with you ;) And of course, you could sharpen the chef's sushi knife for him.
The only big "cinema" thing I noticed was the new-to-bushcraft guy being mostly out of the shot on several of the scenes while you had blank space behind you- so with the camera panned over, the video would have shown both people better.
And from a production standpoint, there's a lot of value...
Nice video SJ!
I'd say the camera man could do a little more to frame the shots, but I think the camera man might have been a tripod. :)
Good work overall- now improving on your rule of 3's, I'd do a shelter in an episode and then water. I'd be sure to catch some details about where is the...
That rock looks right- very smooth sides and breaks to what look like sharp (SHARP!!) edges.
Use a piece of carbon steel to try and get sparks... the sparks are actually metal being shaved off the tool, not the rock itself (from my understanding and experience). Stainless steel doesn't do as...
Duct tape :)
And I'm sure I'll run out of bullets well before the grips start to deteriorate. Then it's going to be bow and arrow time, followed by spear time, followed by sword time, then knife time, and finally sharp stick time.
Hope the bleach doesn't corrode the metal...
I have a great story about a completely plugged and FULL toilet at my house- someone else did the deed. At the time we owned exactly one plunger- some ****ty 12" sink-unstopper... not a real plunger. I was elbow deep in disgusting brown toilet...
Anybody else read the article that said it may be linked to the genetically modified mosquitoes that Brazil released into the wild to try and combat dengue fever?
I have some of this stuff at home. Haven't played with it yet (been busy since Christmas). It did occur to me that I probably shouldn't fuse the ends with a lighter after I cut a piece off though...
Damn how did I miss this!
I've got an artificial tree that would make a heck of a bow. Or snowshoes.
Good work VC! Once settled into our new house, I hope to have more time to play with my things and do some re-purposing too.
Nice! Now I've got an idea of what to do with one of the five or six axes/ax heads I found in Granddad's tractor shed. I have on old ax that I've been using for years. I definitely wasn't leaving the ones I found in the tractor shed (house was already sold and we were about out of time)...
@57tr6 I was going to suggest opening one of those packs in a month or two just to be sure the contents are still good. I have no first hand experience, but have read that you freeze the packed rice/beans for a couple of days to kill any larvae that may be in there. Don't know if that works or...
