I can vouch for these as well. It “baffles”’ me how quiet they are compared to some others I have. I have both the aem5 and ocm5. For what most would consider as older technology they do what they do very well.
First experience was the one I bought in 2002. MAC 11 .380 w/ suppressor NIB. I wasn’t lucky enough to have a friend with one and the few ranges around me at the time didn’t rent anything to shoot. Anyone remember Evans Howell in the Roswell area? Didn’t have a retail store but was big into...
Not to carrot dangle OP but I'm thinking about selling my MK12 Mod 0 clone rifle and I have a brand new AEM 5 suppressor w/ knurling that I have failed to go shoot yet. I always offer the suppressors to potential buyers of the gun first but rarely do they buy them. If my gun sells w/ out the...
True but if he's moving to a state that doesn't allow SBRs it would make sense.

Depending on what the lower is makes a difference as well. I see guys taking factory Colt 6921s that are marked M4 LE and have the le restricted roll marks off the registry and permantly attaching flash...
There are better options as far a db reduction goes no doubt but If wanting to stay with in the realm of "clone correct" other brands aren't a consideration for those that take it seriously. That's like spending the time and money collecting the parts for a true mk18 upper then putting magpul...
Here is a pretty good rule of thumb for those that don't want to spend hours reading, debating and interpreting the laws:
If no physical modication is required to the receiver for your "auto sear" to fit and make full auto then it's a no go for posession.
Examples
Glock sears - no...
A bunch of blanket registrations were being sent in right before the ban in a frenzy. A lot of shady stuff was going on as well like sending in registrations on stuff that wasn't manufactured yet. Some took the chance and got away with it but some didn't. There are few that were smart enough...
Looks like suppressors are the new ar15s. Everybody makes one. Good for consumers I guess. The more competition, the more prices will driven down to compete.
Most with trusts that I know are good with it. Just the price to play. Not sure if it's been mentioned but one of the biggest worries what I'm hearing is that because of all the additional back ground checks needing to be done it's just an excuse to push the final approvals out. Who knows....
I hate to bust the bubbles of those that think the military pays less but that just isn't true. I've personally been involved with government purchasing that even included weapon purchases from HK. I was shocked that the price sheet showed military cost as the same as dealer and local state...
They do the job but not as quiet as the m42000. The sound reduction is noticeably different between the two. No clue about the POI shift. Still a good deal in my opinion for a name brand suppressor.
