    I think it was a bad case. Wasn't the first round. Shot a bunch more after that. Nothing unusual happened. No obstructions or any such. (I had recently cleaned the can, but it was all back together tight and aligned. No baffle strikes.) Ammo was pretty new. Maybe only a year or two...

  9. 22 Silencer, which one?

    Very happy with my Dead Air Mask so far. It is quiet on a 10/22 and a Ruger Mark II, and whisper quiet on a bolt. The strike of the firing pin is the loudest part.

    I’ve tried a bunch of stuff. cci quiet is nice. winchester super suppressed is sweet. colibri is just silly. No sound at all with a bolt, I can really understand the giggle factor

  16. Cleaning 22 Baffles...

    Sorry. I forgot to mention that I have the Mask. And the Ghost M. The mask has stainless baffles. And only three baffles in the ghost are aluminum. Ghost cleaned up nicely. Mask didn’t take long to get naaaasty. All that wax adds up quickly.

    I hear that soaking them in DOT 5 once you get them cleaned good is a nice way to prevent future fouling from being so bad.... Any opinions?

    What cleaning methods does everyone like? I'm leery of The Dip because it seems pretty freaking nasty and easy to mishandle/hard to dispose of properly. Anyone got anything less extreme?

    As dopey as this interpretation is, my understanding is you have to ship it off to get a wipe replaced. They can’t just send you one and let you install it yourself. Leave it to govt to come up with this level of nonsense
