  1. 5$ stamp

Should be $5, available at Publix or out of a machine, like other stamps. But of course, it's not really a tax. (And no, I don't think there should be a tax at all. The whole thing's stupid and unconstitutional.)
  2. Tumbler for baffles

And "the dip"-- sounds innocuous, but the catalytic reaction it starts will eat steel, though I don't know about stainless. No question about it rapidly removing lead, but don't let the "harmless" ingredients fool you-- it's powerful stuff. Definitely research before using.
  3. Tumbler for baffles

I don't have any cans, but I have polished rocks, and no way would I use rock "polishing" abrasives on expensive metal parts. It grinds away a lot of the rocks-- I expect it will erode your baffles.
  4. What's happening here? Keyholing?

This man is correct. Or just shoot cardboard, and carefully measure the holes for "roundness" with a caliper. And better yet-- do it at double the distance. I have lots of handgun bullets that rip paper, but are not askew in flight. Loose paper... rips.
  5. Anyone using ultrasonics to clean?

The pins will get your brass so clean that it will hang up on your expander (Dillon expander/powder die, etc.). I won't buy pin-cleaned brass ever again. Slows my reloading WAY down.
  6. Anyone using ultrasonics to clean?

Only with the fake ones for sale cheap for "jewelry cleaning", that don't actually work as US cleaners (they buzz and that agitates the solution, from my experience many years ago). You're taking a huge risk putting gems, even diamonds, in an ultrasonic cleaner that actually works. Millions of...
  7. Anyone using ultrasonics to clean?

Oh, I hear you. But is it safe for emeralds or rubies-- which have natural fissures, unlike diamonds? I've seen the cheap "ultrasonic" cleaners for jewelry that don't really work-- they won't blow holes in aluminum foil, for example. They're pretty much a ripoff, but they're also therefore...
  8. Anyone using ultrasonics to clean?

Couple of other comments... Lots of big ultrasonics on the market for tattoo equipment cleaning. You don't want the water too hot... if it's too easy to form bubbles, like in boiling water, they don't collapse hard. Around 170 is what my research indicates is optimum. You need to run it for...
  9. Anyone using ultrasonics to clean?

Don't forget you can demonstrate by holding a piece of aluminum foil in the water. A working quality ultrasonic will blow tiny holes in it in very short order. I keep my hands out of there when it's running...
  10. Anyone using ultrasonics to clean?

I use one for gun parts and my precision brass cases. Works fabulously-- I have a similar 2.5 liter unit. I wish I had sprung for the frequency sweep feature, but I compensate by stirring stuff around. Stick with about 170 degrees for maximum cleaning effect. Hotter and the bubbles don't...
  11. When buying an NFA item from someone else with a trust

So... what if you just bought the trust? Then changed beneficiaries? Would you have to do ATF paperwork then? That's why one always buys planes, yachts, etc. with a corporation. That way, to dispose of it, you just sell the corporation and avoid paying sales tax. No sale tax on the sale of...
  12. NFALawyers Initial Review of 41P

If you got a drivers license in GA between 1996 and 2000, you got printed for that too. Lest anyone forget that clusterf#(k.
  13. Bill to remove suppressors from NFA proposed

I remember talking to a guy in Namibia. He'd ordered a .300 Win-Mag rifle, I forget the make. When it finally arrived, the gun store called him to come get it. But BTW, would he like a suppressor? Sure, says he. "Come on down tomorrow; we'll whip one up on the lathe this afternoon.". It...
  14. MG owners. Ever had the law called on you for automatic fire?

"Cool" only because it could have gone so much more badly. Maybe that wasn't the best choice of words, but it was tense and they quickly recognized all was well. I would much prefer they not have shown up at all, but if they are going to show up, to at least be professional about it. And they...
  15. MG owners. Ever had the law called on you for automatic fire?

In my case with the belt-fed-- we didn't know how to contact the few neighbors within a mile or so. But we certainly would call the SO before doing it again on that or any other property. We may have been the dicks that day-- but won't ever be again. Lesson learned-- I don't want the cops...
  16. MG owners. Ever had the law called on you for automatic fire?

Uh-- yeah. The cops, SWAT, and the game warden that showed up suggested that next time we call them in advance... Belt-feds engender quite a reaction from the neighbors.
  17. Sawed Off Sunday!

For you youngsters, that movie was filmed in Atlanta, and there's a scene that's supposed to be someone falling off the Peachtree Plaza, but they actually filmed it at another spot-- one of the other hotels around there with an exterior cylindrical elevator... Allegedly, it was offered to Clint...
