  1. Nostalgia time here (80's BMX)

Yep those old DG’s were cool bikes.
  2. Damn expensive hobbies!

My Grandad was a doctor, and a pilot as a hobby. He had at least 10 different planes throughout his “career”…I remember him taking us off across his back field and flying us all around, then landing in the same back field... I never caught his fever for flying, but my uncle did, and had some...
  3. Damn expensive hobbies!

I have quite a few of “them”. I’m not an avid collector of Case compared to my Dad. He has so many Case knives he could open a store. He even has the big glass top Case display case that sat in Franklin sporting goods for 40 years. It is fully packed with them, and is hardly a speck of his...
  4. Damn expensive hobbies!

Man knives can be just as bad. I’m the same as you, though. I ain’t spending $600-$800 on a knife.
  5. Damn expensive hobbies!

I’ve bought, sold and traded some pretty high end guitars, especially on the acoustic side, including Froggy Bottom, Santa Cruz, Boucher, and many other boutique builds most have never heard of…Not to mention many Gibson, Martin, etc… My fav for the past couple of years has been this Gibson...
  6. Nostalgia time here (80's BMX)

I have my brother’s old GT Mach One, from around ‘85. It definitely needs a good cleaning and restoration. It’s all original, though. I just got a Trek mtn bike too. I’m really digging it so far. I will upgrade a couple parts eventually, but I like the Trek. It’s a smooth ride and I don’t need...
  7. Damn expensive hobbies!

Mine is a ‘79. All #’s matching. I don’t like the spoilers, personally.
  8. Damn expensive hobbies!

I certainly could not afford a new one, but new cars don’t excite me, anyway. As for expensive hobbies, guitars or any musical instruments is definitely an expensive hobby. In my case it is worse than guns by a wide margin. We are living in the golden age of instruments, though, and super...
  9. What’s a wheat pennie’s value?

It’s worth more than a modern penny. The state of the modern penny is sad.
  10. Any axe folks here abouts?

Doesn’t that make the pry bar more practical? LOL
  11. Any axe folks here abouts?

I imagine so. They’ve been around forever.
  12. Any axe folks here abouts?

Agree. I do like the really old school multi tool type hatchets, though, just for nostalgia…And they can be practical. I have a few really old ones. I gave this one to my son. We’ve used it a fair amount. It has the bit, hammer, crowbar, and nail puller(which can be used for several tasks)...
  13. Any axe folks here abouts?

I really like that. It was probably an axe head. Not really made for throwing. I’m not a thrower, anyway. I’m sure it’s fun, but not practical for me. I’m not surprised it is a good whacker, though. That’s what it was made for. No doubt about that.
  14. Any axe folks here abouts?

I have a couple of double bit axes but my hatchets are all single bit.
  15. Musical Instruments

    Interesting. It’s really cool man.
  16. Musical Instruments

You don’t mic the Martin? It is unique. Which model is that? I’m thinking it probably sounds too good for a pickup and effects. Mic that mother!
  17. Nostalgia time here (80's BMX)

Love the Diamondback! My buddy across the road still has his DB. I almost have him talked out of it, I think.
  18. Nostalgia time here (80's BMX)

You should see it now. It is scary looking to me. I loved the old track. Some very fond memories at Tapp.
  19. Musical Instruments

Yeah I played and sang for many years on the country circuit. I had a lot of momentum a couple of times, but my drinking and wild ways got the better of me...My son being born changed me big time... Still, I've been there and done it with the best of them.
  20. Musical Instruments

I play multiple instruments, but mostly play guitar.
