    I have several new (to me) levers to take deer with. I have an old Win 94 top eject with an old school 4x scope, a 336 in 35 rem and a Marlin 444 as well. Come on deer season!!!!

    Any Mosin rifle or carbine will work just fine on deer. If I felt comfortable with iron sights, I would hunt with mine.

    IMO.... take your old 30-30.. I think that the .223 round is just too light for this use (deer in heavy cover)

    I am all for maturing as a hunter... but somebody needs to kill some deer. My son just did another $1600 plus damage to his car last night... I watched two last weekend, they better not show up this weekend. I need to even up the score a little!!

    I use to complain about the bugs, until I tried a thermacell. That thing is worth it's weight in GOLD when trying to sit still and hunt.

    I love the 30-30's... Have a Glenfield 30a, a 336c, several Win 94s, and my latest is a Springfield 840 bolt... Killed my first deer tho' with my 110E in 30 - .06, love that rifle...

    I plan to try it with my Super Blackhawk.... Of course, the SS finish might be a little problem, so I will be looking for a cloudy day... turned down $200 profit to keep it just this weekend....
