  1. North East Ga Hog hunting

No advice for you but please post results when you figure it out! I've got some boys that are prepping for a hog hunt too. Guessing you know this but it's my understanding that the hogs are a lot more plentiful down south. Anyway, good luck!
  2. Grizzly encounter!

It would work if he stabbed his friend in the leg as they ran away.
  3. Bear pictures...

That's why you really only need a .22 in the woods. Shoot the friend in the foot and you're home free.
  4. Hog Hunting

There are a ton of guides, just search Google. Hogswat posts here and gets great feedback.
  5. Best way to catch a snapping turtle?

My Grandpa caught a huge one walking towards his pond. He drug it (too big to pick up) by the tail away from the pond and beat it to death with a rock. That is my earliest memory of Grandpa. I always behaved when we visited.

  7. Hunters safety course

When I took the test, there was just one option. Anyway, I'm sure they're not that different, it was insanely easy. Just moderately pay attention and you'll pass the online test. The 2 hr course you have to show up for is also easy.
  8. Hog Hunting on a WMA during Turkey Season, which ammo can be used?

I was thinking something more like this...
  9. To my fellow Hog Hunter Justin

Awesome thread. Thanks for the updates.
  10. Hog Hunting

It depends on what you get. $500+ for just access to land like some of them is a rip off. $700 for a warm bed, meals, and a guide running dogs isn't terrible. I just can't afford to that often though. I'm looking for a club, but I really want one that allows guests (even if limited and for a...
  11. Backup handgun for hogs

My experience is limited to one hog hunting trip. I carried a .357. It was bulky and heavy. Next time, I'll have a small single stack 45ACP. The guy that was running the hunt just carried this:
  12. Hogg Hunting

If you don't want discussion, post an ad (this is an advertisement) and disable comments. That would make more sense to us simple folk. Best of luck to you.
  13. Why I love/hate the burbs..

There's a lot more to it than that. Anyway, I have to say, there were TONS of hot girls in Australia. Think of a room full of random American women. Now take 50 lbs off all the girls that could loose it and still be healthy. Don't worry, I'm not moving there though. USA still rules.
  14. Why I love/hate the burbs..

I'm sure some places are better than others. I grew up off a gravel road in the sticks. It was nice, but there were still neighbor problems (my Dad was one of the problems, lol). We had stores reasonably close but still wound up driving 30-60 min for some things. I almost never have to do...
  15. Why I love/hate the burbs..

I can walk to the highschool, a large park, and a swimming pool. I'm 10-15min from anything I need, shopping and entertainment. The street I'm on is pretty quiet and my yard is big enough to play catch, tag, or whatever with the kids. I'm close to the school my kids go to and their friends...
  16. whats the most you will pay

I've been looking into leases and that's one way I've been trying to grade the options. If it's a 1000ac trac and there's 10 people, you're basically paying for 100ac. There are a lot of other options to consider though. It's tough to get a apples to apples comparison.
  17. Spotlighting Hogs?

That's interesting, but not sure what that means for hunting with a light. If the pig is under a light, I don't need it's eyes to glow. I wouldn't shoot at just a pair of glowing eyes anyway. Am I missing something or thinking too hard?
  18. Spotlighting Hogs?

bump for thread title change in hopes of a few more views, lol :)
  19. Spotlighting Hogs?

Anyone have any up to date info on hunting hogs with lights at night? I've been reading up on hog hunting. I found out that a lot of hog hunters use red or green spotlights at night, especially out west. There seems to be pretty good success with a fraction of the cost of thermal/night...

Dang, dates are filling up quick. I better get on the phone tomorrow and see who I can round up!
