  1. Got lead?

No sweat, I'm not in a hurry. I just didn't want to miss out. I really did like the tangent the thread took, lots of interesting info.
  2. Got lead?

The thread got a little off track, but I like it. I would be in for 50# when you get it.
  3. 41 Swiss vetterli

Uh oh, may have to get off my a$$ and do it now!! Thank you that's a very kind offer.
  4. 41 Swiss vetterli

I bought the Lee die set from Midway, their website said something like limited production/availability and was in stock, so I jumped. Converting the rifle is on my "things to do" list, but the list is long @bulletpaluza LOL. If I only knew someone that would cast me some bullets it may get...
  5. 41 Swiss vetterli

In, just to drop my avatar in this thread LOL.
  6. 5lbs of unopended Trail Boss Powder

    @bulletpaluza
  7. Reloading man cave room

    Very nice!!
  8. Post a picture of your loading bench

https://www.theoutdoorstrader.com/threads/getting-started.1397649/ Here is thread from last year about my getting started.
  9. Single or progressive reloader for starting out

I am a beginner myself. I would recommend single stage to start especially for rifle calibers. I tried the lock and load bushing system and wasn't all that impressed with it. I felt like I was getting movement on the resizing step. I prefer just the locking nuts on the dies. It doesn't take...
  10. Reloading Scale

I have done this a couple of times to a paper shredder and a postal scale that came from the office where my wife works. I don't know what I did to fix them but I told her I had to open them and let the gremlins out.
  11. How would you de-cap live primers?

https://www.midwayusa.com/product/170552/lee-ez-x-expander-decapping-rod-762x39mm-310-diameter-replacement-part All the Lee dies I own have a one piece expander/decapper.
  12. How would you de-cap live primers?

Yes there's a reason. It's a Lee die and the decapping pin is not removable. Also I didn't know what the primers where or how long they had been in there. These came from an estate sale, primed, and where given to me. I wanted rid of the primers. They're all decapped, cleaned , resized ...
  13. How would you de-cap live primers?

I did use the universal decapping die. Thanks again for all the advice I got them done, no detonations. Eyes, ears, fingers, toes intact and anal sphincter a little stronger now.
  14. How would you de-cap live primers?

Eye protection check, ear protection check, butt cheeks clenched tightly together check, slow and steady leaned back away from the press. Got them done no detonations. Just wanted them out, no intention of reusing them. Half the reason is the brass didn't pass the chamber gauge, the other half...
  15. How would you de-cap live primers?

I was given some brass that was primed. About 1/3 of it did not pass the chamber size/head space gauge. Since I don't know what kind of primers where used, or how old they are I would like to just de-cap, clean and start over on them. I'm thinking of soaking them in water overnight and then...
  16. Scored at Academy Sports in Hiram

With retail in general in a tail spin you would think Academy and the like would get, "order from website free ship to store" like a lot of big box stores do now. I would probably shop there more but it's so hit and miss I rarely go in except for targets. Unfortunately I just shop online mostly...
  17. Struggling finding gunpowder...

I found a pretty good selection at Dawsonville Gun and Pawn on 53 near 400. It's right on my path to and from work. Tell me more about the store in Gainesville with an isle full of powder.
  18. Question to expierenced reloaders

Don't consider it money invested, it's money spent. It's a hobby it doesn't have to make sense. It's better way to spend money(IMHO) than golf, tobacco, alcohol, or tattoos.
  19. Getting started

Finally made some ammo. (A month from the last post) Test batch of 8mm Mauser. starting with 41.5gr. IMR4064 and topping out with 45gr. in five each at 0.5 gr. increment. I know one thing I learned and that is to get a second shell holder for each caliber so I can go from seating to crimping...
  20. Struggling with finding time to reload....

I didn't invest any money in reloading equipment, I spent it. I don't spend any money on tobacco, cable tv, alcohol, tattoos or golf, so I spend it on firearms and related accessories, and tools What's the rush, if you have time, fine if you don't fine also. Like someone else said "winter is...
