I use frankford arsenal pump spray case lube and have never seen this with it but a thousand years ago when I was using the old fashion roll on lube pad this would happen if I let the media in the tumbler get too dusty.
For the 300blk hog hunters here .... These bullets are like magic for anything made out of meat .... over 2k fps average out of a 9" barrel, all copper, full weight retention, still over double sized expansion and about 20" of penetration at over 300 yards ...
Maybe the spec allows for a little wiggle room in the rim size that the thousand year old lee die set doesn't? I've run into weirdness like that with lee sets before that's why I stopped being them.
For 9mm I use hodgedon titegroup and for 45acp I use reloader power pistol. I tend to use powders that at their maximum or close to maximum charge for a given round they pretty much fill up the case and are occasionally ever so slightly compressed (I've been doing this for nearly 20 years...
I still have my lyman, etc manuals from 10-15 years ago and more ... and the loads are much more conservative than current loads in the hornady manuals ... AND quite alot of the jacketed projectile weights that we're using today didn't exist then.
The only gun that I do that with is my ruger redhawks and super redhawks .... I can't fit enough powder in the case to blow them up.
I never understrood why someone would buy a revolver that wasn't a ruger :D
(I jest, if you use the wrong powder you COULD blow yourself up but if you're using a...
I agree with alot of this ... but take it a little further. I think that alot of ga arms stuff is **** too. I bought 2 ammo cans from them filled with 45acp and had to take it back because every 4th round wouldn't even chamber. Their equipment dented out the cases so they wouldn't slide into the...
Unscrew the top center off the die (the part with the decapping rod ) and then it will leave an open hole going down into the neck of the brass. Tap it out with a rod or dowel.
Also clean the die thoroughly and get all of the lubricant out and switch to one of the spray/dry lubicants like the...

I don't see a unique but there are plenty of other options there.
Just load a few going up a 1/4 to 1/2 grain steps at a time (or even more granular than that) and put them in zip lock baggies labelled and...
I I'm a big fan of singe stage presses ... even for doing quantity I just use multiple people with multiple presses and assembly line it. Istill love the old lee classic presses but my current favorites are either the RCBS rockchucker or hornady locknload ... they are much heavier duty and have...
So I resize/decap the brass and then clean in stainless steel media ... it does a good job of cleaning out the primer pockets and leaving no trace of anything.
I trust my own loads with my life as I've never had a malfunction with one of them but as you said before "all legal ramifications aside"
The problem is those legal ramifications. When I was teaching CCW courses in NE and NV it always came down to this .... we had police and lawyers both...
I tend to use the manuals for whatever vendor components that I'm using. Most of the time that means Hornady or Hodgedon. I don't know if it's because I lived in Grand Island, Nebraska for 15 years and did alot of work at the hornady plant or just that I got comfortable using them in all my...
The wisdom from the guys at hornady is that a slightly compressed load when you're dealing with pistol powders is not really as much of an issue as with grained rifle powders. This is because when you compress them the grains tend to break up when they are compressed into finer pieces and this...
I reload both .... I don't shoot any ammo that I don't reload.
I still have a marlin 30-30 but I have to be honest I don't use it at all anymore. It was my first deer rifle that my dad got me when I was 11 to practice
with for when I could start hunting later that year.
For <100 yard...
