Dang, your the third person to post in a matter of days looking for 32-20.
I have some I have to dig out. Nickel plated RP if I remember correctly. Some components.
What gun are you loading it for?
This book is excellent and has 600 pages. Has tips on fire forming. And case conversions for hard to find stuff. It does not have info on bullets or powders. Each case is provided with deminsions. If you have an Ollies store close by they are only $6.99
Yes you can save money reloading. When I was reloading for the 300 Ultra Mag, 100 rounds with premium bullet cost me around $90 to reload. New factory ammo with proud bullets were $50-65 a box and up for 20 rounds.
It all depends on what you are reloading for a cost comparison. I got into...
I also used Rwmington 35 Whelen brass, I use a CCI large rifle mag primer. I have some heavy bullets, but built it with the Barnes 160's or Nosler 180's in mind. As for now I am pleased with the accuracy and load with the 180's so not gonna change. The target I posted was a 4 shot group. Three...
Very happy with the craftsmanship performed on the rifle.
BLC2 is awesome for this round, since it's ball powder it meters very well and is not a compressed load like the 4064 load I was using.
You can purchase either an E.R.Shaw barrel, or a Remington factory from them. They just chamber it. From my understanding with talking to them. They buy factory blanks that have not been chambered. That is what I purchased. With shipping, barrel, headspacing it was right around $400 for...
Remington 700 factory detachable mag rifle. Boyd's laminated stock magnum contour barrel channel. Leupold 4.5x14x50 vari x 3 in Leupold mounts and rings.
All chambering and barrel mounting was done by E.R. Shaw on a factory Remington barrel and magnum contour with 26 inch barrel. This rifle...
Stainless Remington 700 detachable mag. Right now it is sitting in a Boyd's stock. If I get a chance tomorrow I will take a pic of it and put it on with details.
The max load the Hogden manual shows for the standard 338-06 is 62 grains of BLC-2. I am loading 63 with a mag primer. The load in the standard also has less pressure then the listed max load of IMR 4064 which I was using. Based on book loads with 24 inch barrels used in testing I believe my 26...
Between the the Ackley Improved case and 26 inch barrel is the reason I am gettin the velocities I am. As of right now Nosler is still making the 180 grain accubonds and cataloging them.
My go to rifle is a 257 Roberts Ackley Improved with a 115 Berger pushed by 50 grains of Hybrid 100V for a velocity of 3180 from a 21 inch barrel. It's a long action Mauser with a short barrel and it balance wonderfully. I have yet to have a friend shoot it that did not want it lol
