Isn't this the truth. A couple of months ago my son bought 1000 rounds of new 62 grain green tip .556. He paid $600 for it, and I thought he was crazy. Not so much now.
I have noticed the same thing at the Academy in Snellville. I actually thought that someone had poured some of the same powder into a "like" container, thus purchasing a pound and a half, for the price of a pound. I too wouldn't purchase powder if the seal was broken.
I saw quite a bit of variation, especially with velocities that were much lower than expected. I also borrowed a friends to compare, and found that both had inconsistencies. I am confident with the Magnetospeed, and keep my CE chrono for pistols and arrows.
