  1. Coyote VS LS

Stupid. Sure, you can take a small bore LS and sleeve it, throw massive boost and make the same power as the head flow and displacement will be similar, but why? Not when there are bigger cube options that you don’t have to set on kill to run the same number and a far more available aftermarket...
  2. What a REAL truck looks like.

Skip to 2:45 if you don’t want to hear about the vehicles. That’s their DD, use it for groceries most times but race it when the need arises.
  3. 2000 Honda Civic low voltage on the oxygen sensor

Go buy a plug non-fouler for $7 or so. Drill to correct size and install in the bung then the O2 sensor. Keeps it out of the stream enough to pass. Then you can gut the converter if you had to.
  4. 2016 RAM 2500 4X4 recommendations for gears and installer

Southern Gear would be my first choice on those AAM axles.
  5. Based on this gear pattern..

I think you’ve got it under control, I too have found the same with GM gears that USUALLY you can use the original shim or at least it’s a good starting point. Seems a bit tight to have the pinion that close to the housing but I’m not a Ford guy and I’ve never messed with an 8.8 so I couldn’t say.
  6. Based on this gear pattern..

From the looks of it I would also definitely suggest in to the carrier, but doing a short pattern like that makes it harder to read. I would honestly suggest coating at least 5-6 teeth heavy, both front and back, and then I put the old pinion back on tight enough I can use a drill to spin in...
  7. Installing an LSD in a Tundra

I would be more than happy to do it if I wasn’t on the other side of town and averaging 20+ hours of OT a week.
  8. Installing an LSD in a Tundra

Agreed, but the pattern is going to be the pattern if they actually use a dial and reinstall to the original backlash if done correctly. Otherwise you're going to run into NVH issues and likely wear the gear set prematurely. If I'm being honest, unless it's extreme high mileage or has existing...
  9. Installing an LSD in a Tundra

Correct, which makes this job easy. No reshimming of the pinion for depth. Essentially remove the axles, remove ring and place on new carrier and reinstall. I would strip it all down and do new bearings & seals which it sounds like you’re doing but that’s a $300 job if you’re supplying the parts.
  10. Need a Winch, what brand?

PTO powered or GTFOH…sorry I had too! Had one on the old Power Wagon and that thing would drag a freight car.
  11. 2005 Dodge Ram inside cab recirculation door fail fix

I’ve got a set of Blend Door USA doors sitting here now because my truck was totaled before putting them in. It’s the only way to do it correct. As far as the work, it really isn’t that bad, about an 1.5 hours to remove, 2-3 hours to replace and seal up everything and 1.5 to put back in. Can be...
  12. Kia Telluride?

Yup, bought the wife a 2021 awd platinum. For essentially the same price I know as long as I take care of it the resale will be fantastic. I liked the Kia, but just couldn’t spend that much on one.
  13. Zero turn mowers

Douglasville isn’t near Paulding or Cartersville?
  14. Opinion on vehicle age vs mileage

Had 235k on my last one and sunshell was fine. GM did actually update the manufacturing process to make it 25-30% stronger I believe than the early models prone to failure. That may have started when the 65e or 70e went into production. That said, if you’re rebuilding one you’d be a fool not to...
  15. Whats up with Moog ball joints?

If you plan on keeping the Jeep, skip the Spicers and buy EMF ball joints. Nothing at all against the Spicer, but watch a video or look at the forums and you’ll understand why. I got turned on to them when I used them on my Cummins. Fully rebuildable in the housing, lifetime warranty, you can...
  16. Caterpillar injector pump

Doesn’t look like it has a cover but I can’t tell from that picture for sure. I honestly have never messed with one of those but I assume the plunger and spring are under there. From that original link I posted the guys say it’s much easier to remove it and reassemble for timing. From what I can...
  17. Caterpillar injector pump

I assume it looks like that, if so yeah then those torque values are accurate or very close. I believe they changed it from 180 to 190 or 190 to 200. Here is a link discussing it as you’re not the only one to have this problem. https://www.thedieselgarage.com/threads/3406b-pump-leaking.99005/
  18. Caterpillar injector pump

I believe those were torqued to something around 180 ft/lbs if I’m thinking of the correct area. Along with the rust and if that value is correct I can see why it won’t budge. I would try with an impact after soaking heavily with Kroil or something similar and a then a quick burst tightening...
  19. Caterpillar injector pump

I generally only work on my or friends Cummins, but my buddy is a diesel mechanic certified by CaT. He uses a chisel and baby sledge to break those loose as the spline will strip. IIRC, you have to replace bushings and o-rings and it’s best to remove pump to align the rack. No idea if they’re...
