The runner would probably be had for under 4k easily.....it has a lift kit and great condiion beefy tires already...i will see if total susp has been addresed. I knew the asking price of 5k was high because of miles....checking on it today.....good info man...thx
I have seen the 470's yes, they are nice....maybe a touch too nice for what im after. And i think the 93 cruiser has the first year of the 4.6 big boy inline 6 that goes and goes, which they did away with after a couple years...so a big super dependable engine is a major plus for me.
Thx guys....landcruiser winning thus far hands down....i have nothing to pull...yet...but im not a big boat/side by side kinda guy so its not really an issue. I have not asked if it has the optional lockers on the cruiser, but i will. Most places i read pretty much said general maintenance on...
Looking seriously at 2 from the 90's......a 93 toyota land cruiser 4x4 with 211k and great condition, also a 96 4 runner 4x4 sr5 with 285k and equally great condition.
I can get either one for less than 6k$.
Not to be daily drivers, weekend fun and bug out scenario tho for sure. I know they both...
Ok everyone...seems to be fixed now...drove it 100 miles on saturday with no issues. It was two things. First was the wrong sized belt, the one i bought which i confirmed as the right size for my year, make, and engine size was just a hair too big...go figure. Second, the power steering pump was...
Allright fellows....thanks alot for all your input...looks like i will have the balancer looked at, seems to be the most popular best guess for everyone....may be a week or two but i will post back what i find out. I really appreciate it guys.
I could be wrong but the water pump does not look new....in fact nothing does except the auto tensioner previously mentioned. I loosened the belt, realigned it down at the crank pulley properly on all grooves, double checked that it was good on all other pulleys and then ran the engine about 10...
Thanks for that man. Hmmm...seems that this issue could be any number of these mentioned areas, or some combination. Thinking i may want to turn it over to either someone VERY experienced who could check/fix all this at my home, or take a chance, have a buddy follow me, and take it to a good...
I hope its that simple, and that i am that naive to all this.
Thx...seems to be a trend developing
I will be checking all this soon enough....not sure what you mean by vehicle accesories though.
Picture pulley locations:
top left...crank pulley, yes. Very clearly its off track there.
top right...alternator...note fray and missing 2 inch portion, i cut it off
bottom pic....drivebelt tensioner put on 1 1/2 years ago...leads me to believe this issue was incorrectly adressed to begin with.
Attention: calling all odt jeep engine, serpentine belt, pulley/pump/tensioner jedi knights.....please report to this thread immediately for assistance...and a very sincere "thank you" up front!
I picked up a 1996 jeep grand cherokee recently with the 5.2l v8 with 210k mileage. I believe its...
