I see you're in Griffin... Am very familiar with the place, Dad lived in Griffin and had an old office building downtown.
And yes, too far... probably 2.5-3 hours drive.
Need a local, experienced Chevy/GMC truck mechanic to replace the transfer case in my 2003 K2500 Suburban. I supply the parts, you supply labor.
Please PM me if you're interested and live in the Chickamauga/Rossville/Ft Oglethorpe/Ringgold vicinity.

Hey Guys, thanks for the input. Has a new 160 degree t-stat, runs 165-175 at cruise, then jumps up to 190-200+ at stop lights, no cooling fans heard. Might be bad relay. I think first step is to jumper the A & B ports in the diagnostic plug and make sure both fan motors are working...
A/C compressor runs, clutch engages, some cool air from vents. No fan comes on when A/C turned on. Previous owner said he had to add R-12 freon annually. Maybe it's time to convert to R-134...
I'd also be interested in installing temp sensors that turn on cooling fans at lower engine temps.
Has original single row radiator. Better cooling with 2-row, according to my research. No coolant leaks as far as I know. And yes, I read you can jumper the A & B ports on diag. plug to see if fans come on, haven't done that. I've heard that low freon will prevent cooling fan switch from...
Experienced Chevy mechanic needed.
I have an '89 Corvette with engine cooling issues. Overheats in traffic, don't hear fans coming on, even when turning on A/C. Observed coolant temp 230+ degrees.
New 2-row aluminum radiator needs installed, parts provided.
A/C is low, needs charged and...
Hey Shawn,
For starters I need to get the car up on a drive-on lift so the floor pans and other fiberglass components don't get damaged. I want to do an undercarriage inspection, transmission and diff services, and tailpipe replacement. The e-brake doesn't hold, so a brake inspection also needs...
So I picked up an old '89 Corvette and am in search of a shop that specializes in old Chevies and Corvettes in particular in the NW GA region. I live in Rossville, so anyone near me in Ft Oglethorpe, Chickamauga, Ringgold and vicinity would be sure to get my business.
Thanks in advance for any...
Good suggestion. I checked around and believe a Goodwrench crate motor is the way to go. I've rebuilt a few engines in my day, so I'll probably do the job myself.
Need to have the engine in my '96 Tahoe rebuilt. It's a 5.7L Vortec V-8. Not interested in hi-performance, just a good quality, reliable rebuild... Recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can recommend an honest, ASE certified transmission repair shop in the Ft Oglethorpe/Rossville/Chickamauga area. I have a 2001 Chevy Tahoe 4x4 that needs a transmission overhaul.
