Do it yourself, kit is around 200. Done all mine myself. Key is the prep, buff and touch up before you apply the coating. Takes you some hours to do but not bad. I’ve got touch up paint and can mix you some touch up if near jasper
If your pulling stuff just around and about or through the woods or on the property. The Ark Articulating hitch is a handy attachment to have for a receiver. I use one when pulling a trailer off road. It keeps your hitch from binding and bouncing around on rough terrain. Probably not an add on...
Rock auto is a good company. I met the guy who owns it. He’s a long haired guitar playing and still lived in his parents basement guy. No joke, he lives in McCaysville.
I’ve got 2 of the gen2 4cyl Tacoma’s with the 2.7’s in them. I know a little more about those than the 2.4’s but what I do know about the 2.4’s is that they are pretty much the same bulletproof design.
Those 2.4’s are stout engines. If it’s not a knock sensor which it probably is I would check the throttle position sensor because they get worn or build up on them and get out of adjustment.
more than likely just the knock sensor. If I were in the situation you are in with the truck I’d bite the bullet and go oem or good quality advance/auto zone brand just for the warranty on it
I was in the same situation in another location and was calling anyone with a 4 wheeled vehicle to get in and get out. I would have been happy to see a golf cart.
