In the old days (turbo 350), you could run the trans dry, conk out on the side of the road, refill it and still get another 10K miles out of it! LOL
Today? If you run it with 2 ounces less, forget it, car's totaled.
Like Brad said, there are soooo many variables for a car that old. Regardless of the condition (which sounds like it's in pretty decent shape), you need to sit in it and drive it. You don't get in a C4, you put a C4 on! I found driving mine (for nearly 20 years) to be very comfortable but...
It finally caught up to me a couple of years ago. I've done countless oil changes and I knew as soon as I started the truck exactly what happened. Started it, looked under, ****, shut it off and picked up the old filter. Dagnabit!
You'd think that more gasket is gooder, right? Nope.
I've said it before: plug in electric is a very niche market, it's not prime time. I believe hybrid is the perfect compromise. Use the torque of electric and the steady state hp of internal combustion and it can be applied to nearly every application.
That being said, we own both a Kia Niro...
I FOUND it!!! The car that was custom ordered for me! :)
2014 Corvette Stingray Z51 3LT 7-Speed Mag Ride Convertible in Race Blue Metallic!! Instead of the way too common Kalahari (peanut butter) interior, this is a relatively rare Brownstone. It's such a warm and inviting color. The...
Honestly, as much as I love the C4, I would not hesitate to go for the C6. The LSx engines are sooooo common and everyone works on them. Not that you need a mechanic though, those things are super reliable!! The interior actually feels spacious yet maintains the cockpit feel of driving a...
Not really. There is a guy that has stockpiled NOS as well as farmed out reproduction parts (gaskets, etc) and he's had everything necessary. There may come a day when a certain part just doesn't exist anymore but I haven't found that to be the case yet.
That's a pretty good list, if I had a 4-post lift in my garage, I'd knock it out but I have had my Z on stands many times with no problems. I would say you could do 80% of what's on your list by yourself, especially if you have the FSM.
