I was interested until I went and saw the price . . . Laughed and walked out, went and bought a new Titan instead (more truck and much better warranty for half the price).
I have 285/70/17 Terra Grapplers on my F150 - stock size should be 235/75/17. I am 4mph off - My speedometer reads 60 I'm really doing 64. It's a pretty common issue that not to many people realize. Not sure about the OP's case since his GPS is reading a lower speed.
I hear ya - don't know wasn't there (well, I don't think it was me but I guess it couldve been) -anyway, I know from personal experience my phone GPS isn't quite as accurate (it lags and jumps) as the speed indicator on my windshield mounted Garmin. Maybe that's part of the discrepancy, maybe...
Pretty simple to check. Get a Garmin/tom tom/smart phone GPS speed app - get on a nice flat road at a steady speed - see how much it's off. I've seen bigger tires throw it as much as 7 mph on large jacked up trucks. Turns that "10 over" into "17 over".
Edit: I'm assuming you need it "tested" to...
I'm about to put a set of Terra Grapplers on my truck . . . Everyone that has them seems to love them and from the reviews and research I've done they seem to last/wear very well . . .
I did that to a Ranger . . . . years ago . . . . scuff pad, some acetone, and 18 cans of 0.97 Walmart black spray paint . . . wish I still had pictures, it wasn't great by any means - but wasn't horrible. Under $25 !!!
You shouldn't have to much issue selling, from your detail thread it looks in good shape. I'm looking for a F150.. . But more in the 2001-2003 Supercrew 4x4 style/range . . . Good luck with yours!
I guess it's trucks that are selling right now not cars. Got a 2012 Altima up for $7,500, not a peep or even a low ball offer. Carmax offered $6,000 - may just end up taking it because it's easy.
^^ Powerstrokehelp.com guy is really good if you need a mechanic. He worked on mine several times and was about 1/3rd cost of what a dealer quoted. (Disclaimer: that was 6ish years ago).
I had a 4x4 2004 SRW 350 several yeas ago, beautiful truck - but threads like this make me glad I dumped it when I had the option. It was for looks only, I don't have anything to haul lol.
Yeah, I've seen a few nasty crashes resulting from a hitch/vehicle failure on setups similar to that. With that said, there's nothing that I am aware of specifically on towing another vehicle like that but there is almost always other equipment violations to stop for and inspect things a little...
I bought my Toyota in Sandy Springs for the simple fact that it comes with a free lifetime powertrain warranty from the dealership. Dunno, only have 15k on car right now . . . and it's a Toyota, maybe I'll nver have to know. I know Commerce Dodge offers the same free lifetime powertrain warranty...
I'm in a 2015 Corolla . . . always had trucks or 4wd SUVs until this and then . . . well, its a long story lol ... but anyways for what it is it does great. 35-38 mpg avg. It's nice to fill up for $15.
