I've had Fords all of my driving life. After the last '07 F150 I had I'm back to a Toyota and I'm not going back. That thing was a complete POS and a buddy had an '06 that was just the same. Transmission rebuilds, two piece spark plugs that break when you change them, cam phasers, coil packs...
We bought 2 ATVs from Southern Honda Powersports in Chattanooga last week. Has anybody else done this and if so did you ever get a tax bill from Georgia for them? My wife is freaking out about it and I'm just trying to figure out what to expect.
I can show you my 07 F150 where the transmission went out at 125k, and my buddies that went out at 110k. When I called the transmission shop to see how much to get it rebuilt the guy said, "Let me guess, it has about 130k on it? Yeah it's about time then." Not to mention the damn 2 piece spark...
Yeah and they break off often enough that it costs out the ass to have it done somewhere if you don't want to deal with it. Ford even has a service bulletin on the right way to change them to lessen the chances of breakage. Which is basically a crap load of penetrating oil and working it back...

Personally I would go with a hard top, or expect to pay $500 every 5 years or so for a new soft top, unless you really take care of them. I also like the full hard doors better than the half doors...
Don't hit your front brakes hard when turning, slow down before the turn then maintain speed or roll on the gas going through the turn. Hitting the front brakes when turning causes the front end to dive and can make you low side.
