Yeah, I talked about that with the guy that bought it. My plan was to open it up with vents so he was going to something similar. His wife actually bought it for him for their anniversary.
All buttoned up:
And mounted:
After I did all of that, I realized the pickup coil wire had been cut in half
Fixed those up and she was alive:
After that I stopped taking pics and started riding. Then had to sell because I was broke.
And a quick mockup to see if parts would even fit inside:
First diagram which seemed a bit confusing for others to follow:
So I drew up another one. Nothing actually changed, it was just easier to follow:
Testing coil impedance to make sure it's still good:
Once I know what I need to...
So about 9 years ago I picked up an '81 XS-650 Bobber project. A lot of work had been done but a lot of work was still needed, mainly all of the wiring and a couple of button up items, like timing the carbs and stuff.
Here's how she looked on the day I brought her home (Note the suicide shift)...
I have the Mazda 5 (perfect for a family of 4 that swells to 6 when my oldest kids visit from their moms). I really want a 3 hatchback as it's more my style. When the 5 is paid off, I'm getting a 3.
I scratched my HD itch and don't really see myself going back. A co-worker just picked up a 2015 Road Glide, and while it's gorgeous, I don't feel the pull anymore. However, I have been jonesing for a Triumph Bonneville.
I've got a buddy who word for a golf cart company (E-Z-Go I think). Anyway, he posted a picture of one of the off road models that had two different rear tires when it came in. Brand new. QC isn't what it used to be.
A little over a year ago I did the same thing. Parted ways with two rare-ish guns to get another bike. Now it's gone too and I've only recently replaced one of the guns. If you do it, make sure to only let go of easy to replace guns.
I drive a 2002 Tahoe at work. 240000+ miles on it. Constantly needs coolant for some reason (according to the warning light) but never runs hot. And it hasn't been babied either.
