Last project.. 1990 Honda Hawk GT
Hoping to sort this one and get it to Barber for a track day in the Spring as well... I've always loved these bikes and this one is a PRIME example! I just don't want to wad it up on the track...
My latest Build...2024 CRF450RL.... building this one for some Dual Sport exploration and hopefully a Spring Run on the SM500.. Still working out a few kinks and waiting on a few straggling parts (Baja Designs headlight & Vortex ECU Switch)
Also have a set of Super Moto wheels for some asphalt...
Was at Barber for MotoAmerica. Love that track and place. Wouid likes to go to AMP or Barber for first track day. Road ATL is FAST! So we like to start lower on top speed tracks.
We are looking into some track days as well.. was looking at STT but will look at N2 as well.. we have never been on the track but it's time...well past time.
I love the Triumph Twins.... Bonneville, Speed, & Thurxtons! such Iconic bikes that move and sound in all the right ways! My Youngest son's first bike was a Triumph T100 that he did a LOT of work too..just an awesome first bike and one we hated to see leave the stable.
It was a British...
Few more recent photos...from this weekend.. I stripped down my Multistrada and put it in Sport mode...bags come off, leathers go on, and this thing is good for miles of smiles.
My youngest is on a Triumph Daytona Moto2. The oldest on a Triumph Street Triple.
All shots up on Fort Mountain.
I don't have the time today but I can meet you up there at some point another time. I live in Dalton but love to ride over that area. PM with contact info inbound.
Could not agree more... this is the second 2018 Street Triple RS our family has had. My youngest had one first and sold it and bought a 2020 Triumph Daytona Moto2. My oldest liked his little brothers Street Triple so much he hunted one down and bought it too. That 765 Triple is a phenomenal...
Got to get out with my oldest son today on his Triumph Street Triple and managed to snag a few photos of him up on Fort Mtn....and one of the Ducati parked along side the road.
EXACTLY!!
Im coming from a BMW r1200GS. The maintenance intervals on the Ducati are better and all things considered it's a wash. I love torque of the big 1260 motor and it flat rips in the twisties yet is VERY capable and comfortable on the highway. With the bags on it has plenty of room...
I got less than 1500 miles out of the rear. running 34/36 cold.... temps come up as I ride...just the surfaces I ride tend to EAT tires.... Fort Mountain is my main haunt and it's like riding on a cheese grater. Got a new Road 6 GT going on today.
I had a meeting up in Murphy last Thursday and used that as an excuse to break the Multistrada out.... meeting wrapped up early so rather than headed home I chose to run a few laps on the Tail of the Dragon... After running 4 solid laps I stopped for a break to grab some gas at the store across...
Such cool bikes... I saw Nate Kern at Barber Motosports hurt some feelings on an R9T in the races there... while a bit underpowered compared to the Super Duke and other hooligan bikes the bottom end torque of that boxer motor is so much fun and easy to ride.
Took at road trip with my son to Austin TX to watch the MotoGP race at COTA.. what an awesome venue and experience! This is the ONLY American venue on the MotoGP circuit. If you've never been I highly encourage you to go!
Did a deal with another ODTer today....decided to ride the bike and then take a few runs up the mountain afterward... People were less inclined to tailgate me that is for certain.
Get's in your blood is an understatement...Back in 2005 I sold my last motorcycle....my sons were toddlers time constraints were REALLY ramping up...before I took the cash and gave the guy the title I looked back at wife and said:
"you DO KNOW this is NOT my last motorcycle...I'm just in...
