My son and I just replaced his broken fresh air/recirculation vent door on the passenger side, took about 5 hours. Fortunately we did it without pulling the dash, which Ford charges 10 hours for, and you have to break and recharge the AC as well. Gotta love plastic parts that break behind the...
The replacement of the vent actuator that is right beside the gas pedal is very easy. The fresh air/recirculation vent on the far passenger side where the stem snaps in half is not easy at all.
I have an 89 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am. It ran a 7.79 in the 1/8th at Paradise a few weeks before I broke the crank in half. I'm in the process of building it back with lots of new goodies. Should be good for mid to high 6's in the 1/8th. This car is a real sleeper, is very quiet, and looks...
I laugh when people brag about their fancy large wheels on their new ride. Everyone sets themselves up for pain buying replacements, but few think that far ahead. I buy the non-sport wheel option, spend less now and later, and wide sidewalls ride so much better anyway. I like comfort, and...
Electric dildo's are great too, but only for those that want or need them. The greenies are shoving them down our throats while chipping our teeth, and saying EVERYONE needs one and will benefit from it. They are using unelected officials to mandate it, printing money out of thin air to fund...
The gold show guys fire up diesel generators all the time after sitting all winter in Alaska and the Yukon. I wouldn't be as pessimistic about diesel compared to gas with ethanol. Hopefully you'll get lucky with new batteries, check the fuel in the filter when changing and observe the...
You're already there, might as well check a couple and see what you're dealing with. Unless they are TTY rod or main bolts, I would pull them for a look see.
I always use OEM pads on my vehicles as well, and use aftermarket rotors. I have not had issues with aftermarket rotors, but have have heard from my friend that owns a shop they occasionally are not machined true but I have not had that issue.
Pretty sure they used low tension oil rings to reduce friction. They allow a small film of oil to stay on the cylinder wall and it burns in combustion. The only symptom is oil consumption. Running a thicker oil is the only alternative to a hone and re-ring.
If it hit 4-5k and you were in drive or OD, the trans was slipping and it is shot. If it was in a lower gear and not slipping, then the fluid was over heated and needs to be changed. If you tow, you need to change the fluid by 60k anyway.
I get all my tires from https://www.tires-easy.com
My daughter blew out a sidewall a few weeks ago, and I ordered a replacement from them. I submitted for their free hazard warranty and they credited me the cost of the original tire. I am very pleased with them.
