Ar500 double spall coating, and some weird surplus gov contract steel plates that I have no idea what they were used for. No your YouTube videos probably sponsored by armor manufacturers don’t prove it.
Sorry man, but you’re posting videos from steel armor manufacturers as your proof. I’ve seen the spall cut through coatings first hand. The coatings might help but they definitely don’t eliminate the risk.
Bullets also ride hard surfaces. I never see it talked about, but the only tests you ever see on steel armor are direct hits. If you’re using steel and get hit at an angle, you could very likely be guiding the bullet to another part of you.
