    The solicitor will usually call your name up before you see the judge to ask how you would like to plea. I just had to do this with my GF.

    Yep. I did the same thing a little over a year ago. Spoke with the solicitor and they dropped to basic rules if I could pay fine that day. That was the advice from a family lawyer friend. After all said and done he told me he couldn't have done any better. Edit to add there were no injuries.
