  1. In Case you Missed it. This will put an end to must have a peek at your GA Weapons license once and for all.

So if I make money I'm a dealer. If I LOSE money, can I deduct it on my taxes? Since I'm in business, all my ammo and cleaning supplies and range time are business expenses. Can I deduct them against regular income? If so, I am OK with this. : )
  2. "Concealed" means "concealed" -screw the "no weapons allowed" sign.

I would politely posit that Lenox did not immediately go to hell after the MARTA station was built. It was some years later. I remember well going in there in 1985, and it was still quite OK. And I took MARTA to get there, I shudder to remember... They were constructing that hotel...
  3. LEOs, WTF did I just see on I-75?

This is something I had to get used to in Texas. EVERYTHING has flashing blue lights... wreckers, even construction crew vehicles, and maybe even utility trucks! That, and the highway exit signs with the yellow bars at the bottom that AREN'T exit only signs... what's the point? In GA I could...
  4. UPDATE 10/3 - Injunction covers all FPC members - ATF publishes their pistol brace rule

Well my apologies. I have been misinformed. Thanks for the clarification-- I actually heard this all from an FFL in the process of such a transfer.
  5. UPDATE 10/3 - Injunction covers all FPC members - ATF publishes their pistol brace rule

I'm not arguing with you... either stay strictly in compliance... or don't. But know what you are doing, and I fear there are millions that don't, and have a legal nightmare in the closet. And a lot of 'em already did even before this week. For what it's worth, the Kuduman curses bitches and...
  6. UPDATE 10/3 - Injunction covers all FPC members - ATF publishes their pistol brace rule

(Edited to remove incorrect info.) If I had had a braced AR pistol, I would have converted it to a rifle the day the rule was published, and gotten rid of that upper immediately, perhaps by giving to someone with an SBR... no constructive possession for them. They can always gift it back if...
  7. Firearms on a commercial airplane.

I've carried a large folding knife on a private jet. Could have just as easily been a gun, but we were crossing borders. The private flights I've been on otherwise have all boarded/taken off/landed outside TSA control. Drive up to the private "jetport", get out of the car and into the...
  8. Firearms on a commercial airplane.

CMshoot, is that 210 and 255 out of 480?
  9. Firearms on a commercial airplane.

I thought there was a specific Federal law prohibiting taking a firearm into controlled airport space, barring certain exceptions. And that there is no such law against knives (hence no one gets arrested for that, just a "rule" violation, like a 5 oz. bottle of liquid). And definitely...
  10. Firearms on a commercial airplane.

I'd like to hear that myself. I shot the NYC qual course in Massad Ayoob's LFI-1-- piece of cake. And I passed the Texas CHL class with one dropped point (dangit) with a borrowed gun I'd never fired before. Something harder would be more fun.
  11. Anyone have ammo shipped and stolen?

    Private Mail Receiving Agency...
  12. ATF pistol brace :(

Uh, yeah they do change the rules regarding alcohol (labeling, marketing rules, acceptable names, alcohol content, caffeine inclusion), and cigarettes (outlawing cloves, marketing rules, and about to outlaw menthol but not till after the election, never mind all sort of vape shenanigans). Some...
  13. The Hero of Greenwood Indiana

This needs to be a match stage: Upon the beep, take cover and fire ten shots at silhouette at 40 yards. Eight hits in less than 15 seconds gets full credit. Less and you go home. No refund. (Just kidding. Sorta.) It's making me think that as RDS might not be such a bad idea, but at 40...
  14. Contact the ATF to keep pistol braces legal (merged threads)

I don't think a smooth, bare buffer tube will suffice to keep your pistol a pistol... have you looked at the points system? weight, sights... can ANY AR15-receiver-based pistol pass muster? I'm not so sure.
  15. florida law

Was this before or after Spinal Tap came out. : ) That's hilarious, either way.
  16. florida law

Yeah, I'm not sure how folks have missed that news over the last few years. Their governor will have to answer for that if he pursues national office.
  17. New ATF definition of firearm

Good. I have not had time or enough to drink to read the thing. Thanks for letting me know.
  18. New ATF definition of firearm

And that's the problem... tens of millions of uppers suddenly having 90 days to get marked to match the lowers-- that might not be on 4473s at the moment. It's their dream come true. Or does one not have to get an upper marked until sale?
  19. "Concealed" means "concealed" -screw the "no weapons allowed" sign.

Malls may be dying, but mail-ordering clothes and shoes sucks.
  20. Jury nullification and 2A rights

Something similar when I was on the Grand Jury in Jones County. You just need a plurality or something to indict, not a unanimous vote. So the DA would notice when we were looking around at each other, and save it by saying "Oh yeah, the defendant uses drugs". And the little old ladies would...
