    That looks like a great restoration job on the original Nagant! I'm not a fan of synthetic stocks but the refinished one looks great. Yours?

    Agreed - that's my plan. Mosin M44 would be my first choice Type 53 (Chinese M44) would be my second but they are usually beat to crap M91/30 if all else fails. I prefer the carbines for overall length and the side-swinging bayonet is also a plus.
