Most days this is in my pocket.
I find it easy to keep sharp being carbon steel. It would be the perfect knife to me if it had a thumb stud and a lock for the blade.
]Wow the stories it could tell. I think it’s awesome you have kept up with and maintained a tool for so many years. Anyone who inherits this will know they have something far more valuable than the cost to replace.
I store mine in a drawer. I can see the point of storing blade up it makes sense. I've never thought of it.
All that matters is your house your rules anything else is rude. Doesnt matter if its right or wrong your house.
Can you send them pictures? I don’t know if they would be willing to verify from pictures.
You mention shipping to them but the nearest dealer being a distance from you. Do they only return ship to a dealer?
The knife doesn’t look like a safe queen. I would use it and enjoy it and remember the...
I sharpen mine every few days. I just want it to be sharp when I need it.
I cant seem to get an edge with a stone. I wish I could. I do have Worksharp and a hand held Smith that seem to do pretty good. I have not even taken the workshop out of the box since we moved in March. I leave the Smith...
I got a Ken Onion for Christmas. I have gotten some really nice edges. I did not read about rounding off the tip but I have figured out how to do it, oops. I use it for most of my knives. I am afraid to use it on my EDC knife which is a Old Timer 3 blade that belonged to my Grandfather. I think...

While I would love to use the stone that sat next to my Pappy's chair i can't seem to get it. The stone has been used so much it has a u shape made one swipe at a time.
I use a similar set up to the one you pictured.
Most days I carry a Buck 340 with the pocket clip removed. I find it the perfect size for most jobs and daily carry. I dont know if its me or the knife but I have a hard time keeping it sharp so it sort of defeats the purpose. Today I dug an old OLD timer 3 blade knife from my safe that belonged...
This takes me back. I really like the 110 but it's a little big for my pocket. This reminded me of the what I assume was a 5 series Buck I had as a kid. To me it is something special. Have a feeling I'll be picking another up soon. I just have to decide which size. I've been removing the clips...
This is what I found. I found that carrying a fixed blade in my pocket left me having to dig for the sheath. I decided the juice isnt worth the squeeze. I have returned to a folder and am happy
