Not a Nazi collector but when I got an engraved Nazi bayonet in a box of stuff I didn't turn it down. Not sure how many German soldiers got one; google translation is something like "For Your Service" Sounds like not many survived to earn one.
Depends, most of the kitchen knives get a quick run on a 120 grit 4x36 belt on my Delta sander and a follow up with a 400-600 grit belt. If I think a bit more of the knife it tends to get the old Norton tri-hone pulled out and hand sharpened. Got a couple that I use a Gatco sharpening stone set...
If so.....are we including the box of 700 paring knives that I bought years ago and pass out to kids, use on camping trips, for throw away ect. I know there are a lot fewer in it now but would still have to count!
That would be the key. You may not be able to match the angle the manufacter but why bother? I made my living using knives for years and can tell you that the Lansky system is hard to beat for someone who isn't used to sharping them!
