I've got 2 Kershaw Leeks (one frame lock, one liner lock), an Inron MY803 cause I'm too poor for an XM-18 or ZT 0560, and a Leatherman Wave. I haven't been able to find an excuse to buy more than that. :rolleyes:

My recommendation would be to get a Spyderco Sharpmaker or similar system. From what I understand, it will take quite a while for you to sharpen a knife as well freehand as a complete noob can do with a Sharpmaker. But of course there's no art to that. If you've got a little free time...
The safeties are stupid anyway. I took it out on my EDC knife. I've never had it open accidentally... but before I removed the safety, it would engage on it's own all the time, requiring two hands to deploy it. Drove me crazy
Another +1 on the Kershaw Leek for EDC. They're relatively inexpensive, lightweight, and low-profile (but still a useable length). I've been carrying one for a couple years now and haven't been able to convince myself I need anything else.
