This one was gifted to me, By serial number it served in both WWI & WWII. I do have the wood grips, the wood was oil soaked and soft, I wrapped them up for safe keeping.
Sorry for the delay Gents, busy weekend. I only have this one additional photo available. I will try to dig the rifle out this evening and take a few more.
Not to hijack any ones thread but since we have some folks far more knowledgeable than I .....................
I have a Mauser marked DOU 41 and G24t, I believe the receiver S/N is 2xxx, I'll have to dig it out. I have no intention of firing it but would like it suitable for display. I'd like...
Great link, thanks! My serial number is low 4 digit and preceded by an x but I have not found any arsenal marks as of yet. I'll have to do some more research later tonight!
A keeper for sure!!
I was given this hand me down but unfortunately it was after he passed. I know nothing about it other than it's a 1918 that was made under license by Remington. I have the original grips and holster. I'm trying to locate a two tone mag at a fair price but have had no...
I have 3 500's but have always avoided the 88. I'm not going to knock the 88 as I have never owned one. There's something about made in Mexico with a 1 year limited warranty that turns me off. 500's currently have a 10 year.
Can't speak for a gen 4 22 but my gen 3 30 has the pin. I took my slide off, having never taken the lower apart I have no idea exactly what it does but I don't think I'd try to run it without.
Thanks guys, from what i have learned it was manufactured between 1895 and 1898. The refinishing did destroy the serious collectors value but it's a very respectable piece for anyone that would like to shoot it or that maybe a non-purist collector.
I believe he's going to advertise it on here...
I'm trying to gather some information on a Winchester Model 1892 chambered in 32 WCF. It belongs to a friend and he'd like to determine the value in order to sell it.
It has a 24" hexagon barrel, SN 88XXX. Over all the condition of the metal and wood appears to be very good. Unfortunately it...

My mother carries a small frame...
I'm looking for a scope for one of my Redhawks. Everytime I get serious about buying one I keep leaning towards Leupold FX-II, 2x. I totally understand that you get what you pay for in optics and Leupold is top of the line in quality and customer support. I don't want to invest in a scope...
I have a couple and like them. Yeah there's more accurate for the $$$ but they've always suited my needs.
For $475 you wouldn't lose. If you didn't like you could easily turn it and might make a couple of bucks.
Worst case is you would have tried something new and have broken even if you...
6" S&W 686, holstered on the hip! That was in the early 80s, where I lived in NC it quite common to be in the grocery or hardware store and not being the only person openly carrying.
