I own a 1911-22 Kimber, if you feed it Mini Mags it never has a problem. That said I've seen way to many people complain about having trouble and absolutely no customer service help. I did own a Grand Raptor which is a gorgeous pistol. Traded it towards a unicorn that I wanted and hunted for 30...
Cost may be a factor. CBs will work in most bolt actions. lever guns or single shots. They don't on most autos. If you happen to have one of the 22's that they work in your outlay for CBs will only be about $10 for a brick versus buying a pellet rifle.
I'm not going to bet my life on it. I got an email from them this morning that had a lot of info, I read in the link that Marlin 1894 wood fits it. Same on the scope mounts. I just went through the email and every link went to shop now instead of the information that I read earlier. Someone...
But It's purdy! Those will actually be limited to 1854 rifles. More for the Oh S*** response for attention. But since Marlin wood fits them just get a plastic model and put some nice wood on it.
Nothing by someone who owned one! That is one awesome lever action, but my shoulder couldn't handle one now! I remember the ads years back labeling it as the most powerful lever gun made. Not so much now but it is a handful.
Maybe 10 years or so ago my LGS owner and I were talking about these. He said he had a group of clientele that paid him $300 in the fall and sold the lever guns back to him for $100 in the spring. He said basically he rented them a gun every deer season for a couple of hundred. Bet they wish...
Leave it. There are only a few Mauser actions I'd consider undesirable and if it's from the 70's they were way to plentiful back then for a gunsmith to use one. Pulling it off may not reveal much anyway. I have one built on a Heym 98 Mauser action. Can't find anything relevant on it.
Unfortunately the Mauser Crest is under the scope. If you were shooting this in the mid 70's I'd say it was most likely a well done conversion. The safety, the double triggers were common add ons. Also and maybe a gunsmith can chime in, the barrel was probably trimmed during the rechamber and...
The name of an aftermarket Mauser safety. Looks like the Sako barrel has been cut back. Guessing a re-chamber?

Almost bought a new one from TG&Y for $159.00 more years ago than I care to remember. Same case had an XP-100 for $159.00 and I was a couple of days to young for the pistol. Bought a new 444 that day instead.
