Couple things;
If there is a 1 in the serial number after the SP, it belongs to the number.
SP12345 is example 12345 the SP is the serial prefix for them all.
People refer to these as “4 digit or 6 digit” etc as the number of digits are indicative of the era of mfg.
4 digit guns are...
I lived in the woods for a couple months in 2008-2009 & I always slept with an HK-91 under the covers with me, I would hug it all night & toss & turn with it. Shot a couple snakes with it that summer.
Cherrys is the "premium" importer of surplus weaponry. Anything brought in by them is nice. The word Cherrys adds around 10% to the value because that is an indicator of Grade 1 equipment. Those are very accurate rifles. Yugo & German Mausers are my favorite Mausers chambered in 7.92x57 (8mm).
Ive been recently shooting accurately at excess of 300 meters with my 5.45 converted Saiga. Watermelon sized targets quickly become scarce.
Thanks for the praise, Ive worked hard on learning this stuff. Been through alot of AKs, ammo & money.
Anytime ANYBODY has questions about something...
I know it just went up like yesterday at AIM. Wideners & a few other places have it. AIM had the best prices but Im not sure since the upsurge. Century was selling it cheap since thay are really the sole/main importer but not sure anymore. I only have 2500 rounds of it. I need about 250,000.....
Yeah man, I saw where you sent me a message awhile back bout your AK sights but by the time I got it & read it, it was prolly too late 2 help. I have up to a week sometimes where Im away from all internet access.
BTW I reccommend theakforum.net to everybody seeking AK enlightenment.
Get a set of Russian plum from Apex Gun Parts. Its listed under Bulgarian 74 accessories. Only the salmon grip is Bulgarian, the rest is Russian as is all imported Plum furniture. The Russian are the only ones to ever make Plum furniture, except Arsenal in Vegas. Arsenal in Vegas is kindy...
Well the SGL-20/21 is basically a semi AK-103 with the 100 series folder eliminated.
The SGL-31 is a semi AK-74M sans the 100 series folder although they are offering one now with the folder factory installed.
Google "ak-103 wiki" & "ak-74m wiki".
Wake SS, have you ever shot at a small target at 200 yards? I have only recently & its quite difficult to hit consistently with irons, especially a moving target. Vehicles are cake at that range but I was shooting cinder blocks, I was using an Arsenal SAM-7 7.62x39 from the bed of a truck...
My brother has a box of the WM5233. It can't be all of the WM5233 as thats not a lot number but a product number. Maybe its for just in case until they narrow down the actual lot numbers.
From what I understand "battle rifle" to mean, it consists of a now "obsolete" weapon developed circa 1950 & used in some cases through the 1980s. Almost all battle rifles were chambered in 7.62 NATO or a similar "full-power" cartridge such as 7.92x57 Hakim & FN-49. Also 7.62x63 (.30-06) was...
Hmmmmmm...... AKs?
Go to 400 Jewelry & Loan in Dawsonville & score yourself a nice SGL-20 for $659.
OR
The TGI AMD-65 for $499 is an excellent deal as well, don't let the 12.4" barrel turn you away. They are extremely accurate as is the Russian SGL-20. These are the best buys for the money...
There were ZERO actually issued to any units. The military always prototyped different stuff. I have read about cut-down BAR & 1903 rifles on South Pacific islands that were experiments, there are even a few pictures. If you had a original prototype "tanker" Garand it would be extremely...
