With the ammo available to consumers, not much better than 22 mag. With the ammo available to military and law enforcement, total game changer, has the ability to defeat most body armor.
The cases are reloadable if your rifle has a port buffer. The fluted chamber does not damage the cases. They can be reloaded several times, if you can find them.
After WW2, the Germans were not allowed to make small arms. Mr. Heckler and Mr. Koch went to Spain to develop the delayed roller lock system. This is where the Cetme C in 308, and latter the Cetme L in 223 came from. After the ban on small arms was lifted in Germany, H&K returned to their home...
I have hit 8 inch plates at 100 yards during a 3 gun match. Winchester Super X slugs at 1600 fps. Have used a Remington 870 and Benelli 1014, both with ghost ring sights.
I have a Benelli 1014 version of the M4. It is approaching 25,000 rounds. The only failure so far has been an aftermarket charging handle. My wife shoots a Breda copy of the Benelli M2. It is closing in on 10,000 rounds, no problems so far.
The only problem I see with the Beretta is the placement of the safety. Have seen people go from shotgun to AR and drop the mag from the rifle thinking they were turning off the safety. If they would move the safety location it would be a much better design.
Go shoot a 3 gun match, you will see a 930 fail. I have never seen a Benelli fail at a match. I have several friends that purchased a 930 when they first came out. Within a year, all had switched to Benelli due to the 930s unreliability.
I have an Armilite 50 cal. Great rifle, cycle any ammo. Shoots 1 to 2 MOA depending on ammo. Longest I have shot it is 600 yards, printed a 6.2 inch 5 shot group using Hornady A-Max ammo. Let me know if I can answer any other questions.
All matches at River Bend are open to the public. Come shoot a couple of matches on Saturdays. After members see you are safe with a firearm they will be happy to sign your application. Calendar is on the website, RBGC.org.
It took over 25,000 rounds of Silver Bear 223 to ruin my wife's AR barrel. I don't know many people who shoot as much as we do. I would not worry about barrel wear with cheap Russian ammo.
