  1. PWS vs LWRC

Stockpiledefense has some mod2 7.62x39 uppers in stock for $1350. Looks like the mk107, mk111, and mk116 are available.
  2. found a dried out lizard

https://outdoors.natchezss.com/products/ammunition-rimfire-ammo-.17-hm2 Natchez seems to be one of the last places for decent priced ammo but they go out of stock fast for most calibers.
  3. Another Brace Question

I ordered a SB tactical SBV brace when Palmetto had them on sale. They are discontinued now but you can find them for around $60. Looks a little bulky compared to other braces but it raises the optic to just the right height so that I don't have to use a high rise mount or lower my head to use...
  4. Wife carry gun

Springfield XD-E 9mm holds 8/9, has an external hammer, safety, and a decocker for different carry options. DA first shot then SA follow ups if carried decocked. It has what Springfield calls a low effort slide. It's even easier to rack if you cock the hammer first. I had not even heard of...
  5. 9mm JHP Carry Ammo Expansion Water Jug Testing!!!

I like the look of that HST bullet. My current critical duty +p 135grain is getting close to a year old and after a little research I ordered a few replacement boxes of Federal HST 147grain for my Glock 26. It was only around 40 cents per round from SGammo.
  6. Flash suppressor suggestions

I use a Troy Claymore on my 7.62x39 ar pistol with a 7.5" barrel. Some ammo like tul and even golden tiger still have a good fireball but when I shoot Yugo surplus I don't notice any flash but those use corrosive primers so I like to clean it the same day. My 5.56 upper has the Palmetto flash...
  7. Best budget red dot?

I ordered a $20 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Y3SZEJC/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 after seeing a youtuber beat the crap out of it on an ar-15. Going to try it on a psa marauder pistol to decide if I want to keep the upper.
  8. AR15 help

My 7.62x39 ar pistol had similar issues minus the dry-firing part. Found a youtube video of a guy slowly turning an oiled 12 gauge brush in the chamber to simulate a break in period and that worked for me. I guess there were some rough spots on the lugs. No problems in about 1000 rounds since...
  9. Has anyone purchased from these online stores before?

I've ordered paper targets and other things from bigsupplyshop.com with good results. Their shipping starts around $16 but if you add some filler items it doesn't go up much. They seem to have good prices on lots of things. Shipping was pretty quick from what I remember. I will order from...
  10. AK mag loader.

I shoot a good bit of Yugo surplus that comes on stripper clips. The NCstar speed loader works good for ak and ar magazines. I save the clips to have other ammo ready for the speed loader.
  11. Anyone built a 7,62x39 pistol??

I went with a Palmetto pistol lower and 7.5" upper. I had problems at first with the bolt sticking and not going into or out of battery but that was fixed by slowly turning an oiled 12gauge bronze brush on the chamber lugs. I probably have 1000 rounds without a jam since then. My bolt cotter...
  12. 7.2x39 upper opinions

I have a palmetto 7.62x39 pistol upper with zero problems after I slow-turned an oiled 12gauge bronze brush in the chamber lugs to fix a problem with the bolt sticking. I'd guess about 800 rounds and I can't recall any issues with c-products 30, 10, or 5 round metal magazines. No problems from...
  13. 'Corrosive' ammo

As long as you clean it or at least rinse the barrel with something to get rid of the corrosive salts you should be fine. I forgot to clean my Troy Claymore muzzle brake for a couple weeks and there was some light rust but a little solvent and oil seemed to clear it up.
  14. How do I know what 7.62x39 or 5.45 x 39 is allowed at indoor ranges

As far as I know, Sharp Shooters allows bi-metal ammo but not steel core. I've shot tula and golden tiger there before. They even sold some tula at the counter.
  15. AK help

Sometimes you can find a M&M m10-762 for around that price. I paid too much for mine during the 2013 panic but it's been flawless through about 2000 rounds. Kygunco is a good place to check but they are out of stock currently.
  16. Reconsidering the M1 Carbine

Hornady makes a Critical Defense 30 carbine round. I'd love to own a Ruger Blackhawk in 30 carbine since I double up with foam plugs and ear muffs anyway.
  17. Idea on new way to shoot an AR pistol

This is using a simple straight pistol tube. I wouldn't try this with a sig brace, shockwave or similar "stabilizer".
  18. Idea on new way to shoot an AR pistol

I haven't had a chance to try this yet but I think this method might help with AR pistol accuray. It's almost like cradling a baby. Stick out your left elbow and rest the magwell in the crook of your elbow and handguard on top. Grip the pistol with right hand and you can even grab your right...
  19. Best Budget Ear Protection?

Peltor Shotgunner ear muffs are nice and give a good tight seal and sound protection but I use Howard Leight max lite foam plugs underneath electronic muffs. You can get 200 pairs of the foam plugs for under $20 at amazon.
  20. 7.62 x 39 mags for an AR

I've used C-products 30, 10, and 5 rounders and ASC 30 round magazines. I can't get more than 24 rounds in the ASC mags. I've had maybe three or four failures to feed out of about 800 rounds but I think that's the Palmetto 7.62 upper which had issues with the bolt sticking until I slowly...
